CMTHS Math Requirements

All first year students attending The Central Montco Technical High School will be required to take a math pretest exam at the beginning of the year. The exam covers basic and technical math skills. In order for the student to complete their math requirement, they must achieve a satisfactory score on the pretest.

A student not attaining the satisfactory score will be enrolled in a weekly math class (45 minutes) where they will practice and improve the math skills needed to be successful in their respective programs. A student can fulfill their requirement by attaining a 60% average or better in the class by the end of the school year.

Failure to attain the 60% average will result in the student repeating this process the following school year. Again the student will be tested, and if necessary, enrolled in the weekly math class.

Reading Program at CMTHS
Reading Specialist

The Reading Program at The Central Montco Technical High School is designed to help our students with the reading and vocabulary they encounter in their fields of choice and to improve their lifetime literacy skills. It is located in what is known as the Academic Resource Classroom or the “ARC”. Our goal is the creation of a positive, comfortable learning environment, complete with student resources and a lending library.

All students who enter the The Central Montco Technical High School are given a Reading Level Test to determine their instructional and independent reading levels. With this information and a teacher recommendation, students are chosen to work with Ms. Slattery.
Ms. Slattery also works with our teachers, providing professional development and
in-service workshops.
